PokerTH (Poker Texas Hold'em) is a virtual Texas Hold'em Poker game.
Texas Hold'em Poker is by far the most popular version of poker and this is an excellent version. You can play against the computer with up to six other players created by the computer or you can play real opponents via the internet. It doesn't display the poker table like more recent versions but the display is neat and easy to use once you've adjusted the settings to your preference.
Your game environment is a well laid out window with your opponents spread out around the display of the spread in the middle, not like a real table but I found it neat and easy to use. If you are playing live opponents via the internet there is also a chat function in the window. Your playing options are displayed for you and advice on your chances are shown in a box on screen. You can even adjust the speed the game is played if you like longer to take your turns.
There are plenty of websites online which can teach you how to play Texas Hold'em including the ranking of the hands. It's better to be familiar with the rules and ranking before you play to enjoy it more and you'll soon pick up all the finer details of game play. It's a free download so give it a try and learn this very popular game, there are so many Texas Hold'em games around this is the ideal starting point to practice and gain some experience. It's becoming a game every serious gamer needs to know and is definitely a fun game to play especially if you're not using real money.
